**This position pays commensurate with experience and licensure, so there is some flex to the listed salary**
**This is Monday through Friday business hours and on-call 6 days p/month, including weekends**

POSITION PURPOSE:
Assist in organizing and administering the department of nursing while providing quality nursing care and assume responsibilities delegated by the Director of Nursing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
- Assist in supervising the assignment and scheduling of nursing staff to meet resident's needs
- Provide nursing care on shift when needed
- Assist and cooperate with medical staff
- Assist in solving nursing service problems
- Assist in implementing company forms/systems and policies and procedures
- Assist in supervising the maintenance of records of nursing, medical and related services
- Assist in validating the accuracy of MDS and Care Plans
- Support the facility quality improvement program
- Conduct in-service programs and orientation programs
- Review physician orders daily and monthly, and participate in triple check process
- As requested, assist with DON responsibilities
- Supervise and evaluate implementation of resident's rights
- Participate and attend periodic in-services and staff meetings
- Perform additional duties as assigned
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:
Experience working with a geriatric long-term care population; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Iowa
